One night in the St.Pancras Renaissance Hotel London

St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel London

The lobby was large, light and a breath of fresh air with people enjoying afternoon tea, sparkling wine and gin and tonic. The lobby is grand and made up of brick and arching stone walls, with a glass ceiling that sparkles with light shining through on a sunny day. The hotel itself is an old Victorian building and has a grand double staircase running up the three story building to a stunning vaulted ceiling.

The Chamberlain Suite

Once we arrived at our room we were surprised and overjoyed to be greeted with 14 foot, floor to ceiling curved windows. As well as a large stunning stone fireplace. The bathroom made of beautiful old marble had a separate shower, bathtub, a vanity and a separate toilet room. Also had High quality toiletries with toothbrush and toothpaste, shaving kit, sewing kit etc.

Lying in bed with the crisp white linens wrapped around me, I felt refreshed and energized after hiking the Saint Cuthbert Way, all my aches and pains melted away.

Best Breakfast Ever

Breakfast was in the booking office 1869 restaurant and was hands-down the best breakfast buffet I have ever had in the UK. I mean they even had churros!!! The experience may have been altered or enhanced in my mind due to the beautiful setting and architecture of this restaurant. It was so grand I felt I needed to whisper to preserve the ambience, and not let a loudmouth American disrupt all the proper ladies and gentlemen enjoying their long and fancy breakfast.

If we were not off to Cornwall on a 10:04 train I would have stayed all day.

Alternative Restaurants

Outside of the hotel is busy, loud and not easy to navigate the streets if you're trying to find a quiet pub or restaurant. But do not fear if you walk out of the hotel front doors and look left there is a great pub called Betjeman Arms. The restaurant has a nice outdoor space. A great indoor space with colorful chairs, tables and brightly tiled walls. Also has an area with tables on the backside of the restaurant leading in to the station. Luckily for me they even had Tangerray Royal, my favorite!

So don’t fear if you don’t want to go far after a long plane ride or a train hall you will find everything you need at the St Pancras renaissance Hotel London, even lots of ethnic food across the road in the urban jungle.
